A high-performing, welcoming, and accountable school district is a net importer of talent to the region.

Reimagine Student Success and Do What Others Aren’t

Hunter knows that student success is not derived from test scores but from outcomes that reflect students' growth from pre-K through a post-secondary pathway. That means having earlier conversations about career exploration, encouraging individualism, and building a culture of self-reliance.

This also means pushing forward to ensure our youngest students have the basic skills not just to read and write, but to understand why their original thought is what propels innovation. It is why we have to open up the conversation about self-responsibility well before bad decisions and bad habits become permanent. And it is what leads us to building pathways to life, whether that means getting kids ahead before heading to college with a rigorous college prep curriculum that instills academic growth and reduces the cost of higher education, or partnering to provide modern career and technical education that gives our students a leg up in the workforce.

People are tired of the same stale leadership. Change starts in our local communities by inspiring and empowering a new generation of leaders.

Right now, we require leadership focused on solving the problems of here and now rather than staring back at the past and settling for less than ideal. In the future, we will too require leaders who will carry the torch forward for their community; that is why it is our job to ensure that the leaders of the future are empowered in our community, so that it becomes a place where they will want to stay to build the following generations of leaders.
